Id say offer him a minimum 1 year deal and if he dont workout walk him out the door because if he really has a change of heart thinking no one wants him maybe his attitude will change for the better....![]()
In case you haven't read it, here's the latest interview with McCants. He talks about being a moody person, going to the shrink, etc.

after reading this, can you still see him and LB getting along? I sure can't...

......Go Bobcats!!!!! !!!..
With McCants it's all mental. AI has more proven ability, but they bring 2 different dynamics and sets of skills.
AI has more ballhandling, proven scoring ability and ability to create for others, but he is considerably smaller and has less of a jumper. Conversely, McCants can post up, slash, and knock down the 3 with good range, and yes, we need another wing player who can knock down the 3 (I don't think I can stress this enough, as Raja is our only wing threat other than Vlad when he is at the 3). He also has more size and with his wingspan of 6'10, he has the size to defend a 2 meaning he could potentially be on he floor with Ray or DJ. Again, it's all about whether LB can tap into his mind or not. The other positive is that he will come for cheap, but also has NO basis for debating whether he should start or not nor have the right to demand any amount of minutes, touches, etc.
Sign him for cheap, but if he can't do what we need, cut him. The Tar Heel in me doesn't necessarily want to take him on for all the typical BS backlash that will follow, but as a Bobcats fan, I think he could bring good offense and shooting range off the bench. We'll see....
is there any more reports about this thing. I just dont want to spend my time on something that wont happen just like the ai drama. When is he workin out for us it says monday was it last monday or this coming![]()
Rashad has always been a bit of a headcase but then again so are a lot of NBA players.
So what if our backup SG doesn't have the best mental game. If he comes to Charlotte, it'll be his production that counts, not how much he adds to team chemistry...
If we can get him for cheap, I say we pull the trigger for once and take a (small) risk.
Before the 2006 draft, I told my dad, "You know who I really want the Cats to take this year? That Roy guy from Washington..."
I think McCants is a good player. He adds a shooter and fairly well rounded basketball player. Once again I'm a little confused on how he fits in as the 3rd SG. Especially if he wants to come here for more minutes. I like idea of adding young players with potential while LB is coaching. Evenyone even Felton looked better under LB. Someone who can hit a mid range jumper and step back behind the line can only help us.
But.....What about Henderson? Are these Carolina folk in the FO turning their backs on him already? I thought he was getting better, Improving his jumper. I wouldn't mind a future back court of Henderson and McCants at SG. But right now stills cant see how it fits.
