SEASON PREVIEW: Last original Bobcat ready to make the playoffs (WITH TEAM ROSTER, TRANSCRIPT)

Many of us in the media feel like you and Raymond Felton have not been traded because you two have won over coach Larry Brown with your playing ability and determination to build a winner here. Would you agree with that?

Wallace: My thing is that every coach wants to do things their own way and play their own style. I told coach Brown, ‘I may not be the greatest player in the world. But I’m also a player that’s never been coached.’ I’ve made it to this league and stayed here based on my athleticism. So I told him to be patient with me and that I was willing to learn whatever he had to teach. I was able to adjust and everything has worked out great.

Was there a moment or moments where you think you won him over?

Wallace: I’d say it took about three months of us going back and forth. There were some rough times. The style I had always played was gambling and shooting the gaps in transition. He broke me down and told me that I had to think about my teammates as well as myself and the situations I put my teammates in. So it was an adjustment for me, but since I always think of myself as a team player, I kinda understood.

I too hope Gerald Wallace sticks around here for his career. He may not get the superstar attention, but he is one of the better players in this league and plays extremely hard.

good find spectre...Crash is a solid dude and really showed what a class act he is last year having to adjust to a new coach and personal tragedy...hope he never leaves...
