Default Big Trade - SJax appears close to deal

I'm still digesting this. I'm stunned we'd take on that salary.

Default Stephen Jackson, Acie Law to Bobcats for Raja, Radman

Disgruntled Golden State Warriors forward Stephen Jackson is about to make fresh start with a new team.

The Warriors completed a deal Monday that sends Jackson and guard Acie Law to the Bobcats in exchange for veteran swingmen Raja Bell and Vladimir Radmanovic.

The trade will be announced Monday. The Cleveland Cavaliers had long been considered the favorites to land the Warriors' former captain in the wake of Jackson's trade demand late in the summer, when Jackson announced that he hoped to be dealt to the Cavaliers, New York Knicks or one of the three Texas teams.

But ESPN.com reported earlier this month that Charlotte had quietly registered serious interest in Jackson and could not be dismissed as a threat to acquire him.

Marc Stein is the senior NBA writer for ESPN.com.

Not really liking his contract, but he definitely adds a bit more scoring at SG...

Talent wise we win this in a major way.

Will it work? That's the 1 million dollar question. And here we go taking on more long term salary.

Wow this helps the team in a major way. Sad to see Raja go, but it is for the best.

Anyone know the details of Jackson's contract? Regardless of how bad it is, it is better than the sunk cost of having VladRad on the team.

Gut says this is a bad move, but we couldn't really be any worse than we were already. Jackson is probably a more talented player than anyone we'd get from the space freed up when Bell/Radmanovic come off of the books.

What worries me is that GSW fans who I trust the opinion of say SJax will not be content with the situation in Charlotte, which will be problems.

One thing is certain, a short handed Bobcats team is about to get plastered by the Magic tonight.

I was just thinking the same thing. Could be REALLY ugly.

Well it looks like we win out for the next two years, given that Vlad's cost is about $6 million during that time.

S-Jax is pretty old, and will probably be pretty disgruntled. However, we are basically getting something for nothing. Acie Law is a nice throw in.
