I'll throw out a wild guess, because I know soooooooo much about guitars...it appears to be a foot-operated whammy bar, for lack of a better term (or any knowledge of what the correct term is). Now that I've thrown that out there, feel free to roundly riducle my guess.

As for what I'm getting, I know I have an iPod touch coming my way.

Yeah the Whammy pedal. It is basically a whammy bar that you use wit your foot but theirs more to it. You can change the octave up/down, they have a dive bomb effect in there, harmony effects and some more stuff I really don't exactly remember right now.

Well, look at that. I can get one right every once in a while. Sounds like it'd be fun.
